Considering the Nissan Rogue? Here’s Why It’s Nissan’s Best-Selling Vehicle

The Nissan Rogue shines as Nissan's best-selling vehicle, sitting at number three in Edmunds' small SUV rankings. The Rogue also made Canada's list of Top 10 best-selling vehicles for the first six months of 2021.

This vehicle's competition includes the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, though it rises above the pack with its latest incarnation. The completely redesigned 2021 Nissan Rogue changed critics' minds with a dramatic makeover in 2021 that included completely upgraded tech features like Apple CarPlay capability, making it an excellent pick in today's competitive car buyer market if you're considering a smaller SUV.

The Nissan Rogue is a Crossover for the Times

The Nissan Rogue has been described as "a crossover for the times: flexible, comfortable, built to deliver a value-enhancing driving experience that's more upscale, and equipped with some of the best in safety and fuel efficiency tech for 2021" by car critics at Driving.ca.

Considered a compact SUV, the Rogue is typically compared to the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. Other comparisons made are the Nissan Rogue v. the Nissan Sentra and the Nissan Rogue v. the Hyundai Tucson.

The Rogue's Exterior

The new Nissan Rogue truly offers a fresh take on the SUV. You can see it in its distinctive exterior design with boxier, more squared-off front end and recognizable LED lighting signatures for improved visibility at night. This vehicle's attractive exterior design is available in a diverse range of colors.

From the classic Caspian Blue Metallic to an electric Amethyst Pearl, you decide. There are also bold options like Champagne Silver Metallic and Gun Metal that offer something different than the average silver or black car-all while looking sleek and beautiful. There are also two-tone combinations that will make your vehicle stand out, like Pearl White Tricoat or ChromaFlair®/Super Black.

The Rogue's Interior

The next-generation Rogue is the most luxurious yet, with a digital instrument panel and quilted leather seats. The cabin has changed from hard plastics to upscale elements like ambient illumination. Those details make this SUV stand out in its class. There are plenty of additional features, including keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calls and streaming audio, a panoramic sunroof, remote engine start, and more.

The Rogue's Engine and Transmission

The 2021 Nissan Rogue's 2.5-litre, direct-injection four-cylinder engine was first seen in the 2019 Altima. At 181HP and 191 lb-ft of torque, there have been some small power increases over previous motors. A new electronic shifter has made it possible to save space under the centre console. Sport mode also adds some sharpness in throttle and steering.

For fuel consumption, drivers report about 8.1L/100km (29mpg) in a week of mixed driving, which is better than the official combined economy figure and competitive with other conventionally powered vehicles in its class. The Rogue also features AWD, notable for Canadians who need to drive in our extreme winter weather.

With the updates to the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's CMF-C platform on which the Rogue is based, the vehicle now has much better on-road performance. A new electric steering setup is surprisingly sharp but with more feel than before. The suspension improvements mean a smoother ride and more strenuous resistance against roll, pitch and heave, which keeps this SUV stable for any terrain journey ahead.
